    Eating soba(そば) easily. Fuji soba(富士そば).

For foreigners traveling to Japan, soba may be a new experience. Soba is a typical Japanese noodle dish that can be enjoyed as a hot or cold dish. It is also popular as an easy lunch menu.

Tourist guidebooks may introduce upscale soba restaurants, but I am going to introduce Fuji Soba, a restaurant frequented by working Japanese, in this blog. It is an inexpensive buckwheat noodle restaurant located in Tokyo and other metropolitan areas.

They are located near railroad stations and other places so that you can have a quick lunch on the way to your destination. Fuji Soba also offers a variety of hearty menu items such as a soba and rice bowl set for those who are hungry.

Fuji soba is characterized by its impressive soup with a salty, rich flavor. Sprinkle some chili peppers to add spiciness and you can enjoy the taste of Fuji soba even more.

If you are hungry, a rice bowl set is recommended. The variations vary from restaurant to restaurant, but the photo shows a set of katsudon (a dish that looks like tonkatsu (pork cutlet) stewed in egg. (It’s hard to explain in words, isn’t it?

Using the restaurant is simple. Choose your favorite menu item from the ticket machine at the entrance and hand your meal ticket to the staff. You will be asked whether you want soba or udon, hot or cold, and I personally recommend soba + hot.

After ordering, sit down in an empty seat and wait for the person to call out the number on your ticket. Sometimes the numbers are called out in Japanese, but it is best to go at a time when there are few customers, as the food will come out in order. Just be aware that it can get crowded during lunch time.

Finally, thank you for reading my blog.
