Kimura's blog in Tokyo

My favorite over Uniqlo. I wear my Family Mart t-shirt every day.

My name is Kimura and I live in the northern part of Tokyo. Japan is currently on a major holiday (Golden Week)!
Am I Ai? You asked me, I am a human lol I wonder if my writing is like Ai?
I cannot speak English, so once I write in Japan, I use translation software to convert my writing into English. Is that the reason why it becomes Ai like? I don’t have a solution at the moment, so I’m going to keep going with this.

I tend to live in T-shirts from now on. Sometimes I wear a suit to work, but most of the time I wear a T-shirt. When I look at people working in Tokyo, I see more and more people wearing T-shirts. Many relatively young people wear T-shirts and jackets. Shoes are also sneakers. I think it depends on the type of business. It is easy from now on. T-shirts will be worn every day from now on, so I want to be particular about them. Here are my T-shirt recommendations in terms of cost, quality, and ease of procurement. These items are recommended not only for businessmen in Tokyo, but also for travelers in Tokyo.

The image is for illustrative purposes only; it shows the atmosphere of a T-shirt and a jacket.

    FamilyMart T-shirts are good.

FamilyMart (16,047 stores) is a major convenience store in Japan. It operates nationwide. It is a major convenience store along with 7-Eleven (21,248 stores) and Lawson (13,779 stores). FamilyMart offers a line of products called “Convenience Wear,” which includes not only T-shirts but also underwear, socks, handkerchiefs, towels, rain items, bags, etc., with the keywords of “want to wear everyday,” “low price,” “genderless,” and “consideration for sustainability. I often go to the Family Mart (abbreviated as “Famima” in Japanese) in my neighborhood. often, and every store sells T-shirts, underwear, and socks. Since they also have a relatively large sales floor area, I assume that they are selling well. What all products have in common is that they are basically plain or have minimal patterns. I feel that these designs are suitable for daily rotation. Certainly, the atmosphere that can be used by both men and women as long as the size fits is in line with the concept. I feel it is very convincing. (Does that translate well?)

How did we arrive at the Families T-shirt?

I have also bought plain T-shirts from UNIQLO and select stores. UNIQLO has an image of products with excellent functions such as quick-drying. The select store featured silhouettes that were in line with trends. I think both are good things, but my own complaint was that UNIQLO’s fabric was thin and the trend-oriented shape would make me look very casual at work.

In contrast, Famima’s fabric is thicker and the shapes are more basic. The price is also inexpensive at 1,200 yen.
For this reason, I have been wearing this plain T-shirt as my work clothes since last year.

To be honest, I had the paradoxical idea that if I could satisfy myself with the T-shirts available at FamilyMart, they would be useful.

    Let me introduce the T-shirts.

You can find them in the store in packs like this. I think that a while ago, these products would have been packed in a box. However, if they are going to go this far, I think it would be better to wrap them in more eco-friendly materials. I think there is still room for further consideration.

The product name is Outer T-shirt. I am about 180cm tall and XL is the perfect size.
I didn’t look at the description on the package in detail, but it was for both men and women.
I would like to introduce it in detail, but the text is hard to read because of the bulging.

It is hard to read even with this,

    • 100% Cotton
    • HEAVY WEIGHT
    • black

    but it says.

When you unfold it, it looks like this. It is plain.
    (I live on tatami.)

Here is a continued close-up of the print on the neck. It is made in Vietnam. I think UNIQLO was also made in Vietnam. It says the following in Japanese

    Please do not tumble dry.
Wash dark-colored products separately from light-colored products to avoid color migration.”

On the FamilyMart website, it also says that the antibacterial and deodorant treatment is designed to prevent odor.
Come to think of it, some of the items have been here since last year, but I haven’t tried the dryer because I don’t want them to shrink. Even so, I don’t think I’ve ever been bothered by the smell. Of course, it depends on the management method and individual differences.

Also, it’s not really a drawback, but as you’d expect from heavy rotation, the color will of course fade after a season of use. Once the color fades, then it becomes pajamas or training wear lol.

And there is one real problem. When you have a lot of plain black t-shirts, it takes some skill to sort out which are new and which are old pajamas. The only way to instantly tell them apart is to look at the tags first!

Who would be happy to see this blog? LOL!

If anyone reads to the end, thank you.

    Kimura
