Yokosuka Navy Dry Curry. Introducing Frozen Food Dry Curry.
I am Kimura, living in the northern part of Tokyo. I found a dry curry for lunch today and I’m going to try it. The keywords “curry” and the former Japanese Navy, which used to be located in a port town called Yokosuka, are mentioned, but what is the connection between the two? There is a theory that curry spread in Japan because it was served as a military food during the war. After the war, curry became popular as a school lunch for children, and it became a national dish among the general public. Even today, the Maritime Self-Defense Force has a custom of eating curry every Friday.
What is dry curry?
I only know about Japan. Are there dry curries in other countries? Is dry curry a uniquely Japanese dish? It is a dish derived from curry, and is a curry without soup. With curry, you eat curry roux with naan or rice, but with dry curry, the rice itself has the curry flavor. It may be similar to fried rice in that the rice itself has the flavor of the curry. It is a dish with parapara rice. I’m sorry for the long preamble, but it would be faster if you have a look at it.
Yokosuka Navy Dry Curry

Yokosuka is a city located in the prefecture south of Tokyo. The next prefecture is called Kanagawa Prefecture. Yokosuka is a city by the sea at the tip of Kanagawa Prefecture. Yokosuka is also home to the U.S. Navy Yokosuka base, and has long been an area where American culture can be enjoyed. There seems to be a recipe for curry that was eaten by the Yokosuka Navy, which existed in this area at that time. Navy Kappo Jutsu Reference Book” (Is it translated correctly?) This dry curry was made based on this recipe.

Cooking is easy. Open it on a plate and cook it for 6 minutes in 600w for one bag. Cover with plastic wrap when warming up.

It is only frozen rice and ingredients. It is curry, but there is no soup.

Cover with plastic wrap and warm up in a microwave oven!

It is ready to cook! Curry flavored rice is ready.

The ingredients seem to be rice/onion/potato/green peas/carrots/chicken. It is well spiced and has a nice aroma. It is one of the frozen foods I want to eat regularly. Accent green peas are also good!
