How to use the Toei Bus. There was a guide at the bus stop.

I am Kimura, living in the northern part of Tokyo. I was taking a walk and somehow saw a bus stop with a guide on how to use the bus. If you come to Japan from overseas and travel around Tokyo, you will basically take a train or a cab. But as a transportation network, buses are cheap. If you have a route to take to your destination, this should be one of your options. If you want to see the scenery of a Japanese city, a bus window is not a bad idea. Today I will briefly introduce how to ride the Toei buses, although it is very simple.

    How to use bus

1 When getting on the bus, please board from the front door. When getting off the bus, please exit through the rear door.

2 Passengers in wheelchairs should board and alight from the rear doors.

    🔳Fares
( ) is the IC fare.
    General Adults 210 yen(210 yen) Children 110 yen(105 yen)
Late night Adult 420 yen (420 yen) Child 210 yen (210 yen)

Basically, late-night fare is charged after 23:00.

    🔳About IC payment
IC cards issued mainly by transportation companies are widely used in Japan.
By depositing money on the IC card in advance,
    This service completes payment instantly.
This is convenient when you need to pay the fare promptly, like on buses. On a train
When you get on the bus, you do not buy a ticket, but touch the IC card to settle the payment while walking.
The IC card can then be used to pay for the fare. It is widely used not only in transportation but also in convenience stores. Especially
Travelers who are not accustomed to the Japanese currency can use credit cards and IC payments
If you can get them to use it together, your life in Japan will be more comfortable.

When you get on the bus, there is either a coin slot or an IC card touch machine; for IC cards, just touch the card and you are good to go.
For cash, two 100-yen coins and one 10-yen coin are accepted for 210 yen for an adult.
At this time, if you have coins, there is no problem, but if you only have paper money (1,000 yen), it is a problem. In that case, exchange money at the machine. 1,000 yen bills will be exchanged for coins. 210 yen is inserted. 5,000 yen or 10,000 yen cannot be used, so be careful.
You will need to have a “1,000 yen bill” or “210 yen bill” in order to use the bus stop!

If you want to take a bus, there is an IC card “Welcome Suica” for foreign visitors to Japan at airports and train stations. There are vending machines at Haneda and Narita airports. For train stations, there should be one at rather large JR stations.

Trains and cabs are sufficient to get around Japan, but if you can afford it, why not try buses? Buses run on predetermined routes, so it might be fun to try to find a route.
