Convenience Store Fashion: I Bought Warm Underwear from FamilyMart
Hello from Tokyo, this is Kimura. Winter has arrived in Tokyo, and temperatures are dipping into the single digits. Recently, I saw many tourists in Shinjuku bundled up in warm coats and down jackets. Perhaps they’re shopping in Tokyo, taking advantage of the weak yen?
Since I often travel by motorcycle, winter clothing is a priority for me. I need gear that keeps me warm while maintaining a stylish look suitable for both suits and casual wear. That’s why winter underwear is crucial!
Uniqlo’s HEATTECH: A Popular Choice Among Japanese
In Japan, Uniqlo’s HEATTECH is a well-loved thermal underwear brand. Many people wear a pair under their trousers in winter—I do too!
This year, I was planning to add another HEATTECH to my collection, but Uniqlo stores have become extremely crowded lately. On weekends, there are often long lines.
While it’s possible to shop online, paying for shipping on small orders feels wasteful.
That’s when I discovered that FamilyMart now offers warm underwear this year!
For the past few summers, I’ve been relying on FamilyMart’s T-shirts. Their price and quality have always been more than satisfactory.
And now they’ve introduced thermal underwear!
It feels like my life could almost be complete with just FamilyMart and Amazon.
So convenient!
FamilyMart’s “REHEAT” Thermal Underwear

These men’s thermal tights are made with special fibers that absorb moisture from the skin, generating heat while retaining warmth. Similar products include Uniqlo’s HEATTECH and Mizuno’s Breath Thermo (known for sportswear). However, as a convenience store product, FamilyMart’s “REHEAT” is budget-friendly—priced at just around 1,300 yen.
Impressions of FamilyMart’s REHEAT
Here are the product specifications:

I believe this was a great purchase.
That said, I plan to wear these on motorcycle tours in harsher conditions to see how they hold up with repeated use. I’ll share my thoughts in the future if possible.
FamilyMart’s convenience wear series also includes sweatshirts and sweatpants that I’m curious to try. I might explore those next!
Thank you for reading until the end!
